We maintain a valuation process that is one of the most thorough and objective in the commercial real estate industry. For example, each MEPT asset is appraised quarterly by an independent Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) who must be selected and engaged by NewTower. As an additional safeguard, NewTower retains an independent valuation consulting firm to verify the accuracy of the appraisal process.

NewTower manages investment data and uses information systems allowing for highly customized investor reporting. In addition, NewTower's systems provide investors and consultants with comprehensive investor reporting.
As a critical part of fund management, NewTower excels at safeguarding client investments by effectively managing real estate, cash, cash equivalents, transaction execution and related legal documentation.
In this role, NewTower monitors daily administrative and operational matters including compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, including Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, State of Maryland Banking Regulations, and the Internal Revenue Service. In addition, NewTower is a Maryland state-chartered trust company.
NewTower believes that strong internal controls are essential to its service to investors and to the performance of the funds NewTower manages. NewTower's in-house legal and regulatory compliance team provides regulatory and risk management services to management and the Board of Directors. The services cover the numerous rules and regulations governing NewTower as a bank, a trustee and a manager of pension fund and other investments.
Through close attention to its regulatory and compliance obligations, NewTower has successfully maintained a strong relationship with its regulators.
